Butterfly Hole Longspan Shelving
Butterfly Hole Longspan Shelving
Our Butterfly Hole Longspan Shelving provides a practical storage solution for warehouses, workshops, manufacturing facilities, and retail backrooms. Its boltless butterfly-hole connection allows fast assembly and flexible shelf adjustment, while multiple load configurations support different storage requirements.
Butterfly Hole Longspan Shelving is designed for manual storage of cartons, spare parts, tools, components, and other medium-sized goods. The system uses punched upright columns and step beams that lock together without conventional bolts and nuts, making installation and shelf adjustment straightforward.
Compared with conventional light-duty shelving, its longer shelf spans and stronger profiles provide greater storage flexibility. At the same time, it offers a more accessible solution than pallet racking for warehouses where goods are handled manually rather than by forklifts.
The modular design also allows shelving runs to be expanded or reconfigured as inventory requirements change.
Key Features
Boltless Quick Assembly
The butterfly-hole connection system allows the beams to lock into the upright columns without conventional bolted connections, helping simplify installation and dismantling.
Adjustable Shelf Levels
Multiple punched positions along the uprights allow shelf heights to be adjusted according to carton sizes, product dimensions, and changing inventory requirements.
100–300 kg Load Options
Three standard configurations are available with rated capacities of 100 kg, 200 kg, and 300 kg per level under UDL conditions, providing options for different storage applications.
Steel Shelf Panels
Formed steel shelf panels provide a stable storage surface and help distribute loads across the shelving level.
Powder-Coated Finish
A durable powder-coated surface provides a clean industrial appearance and helps protect the steel components during everyday warehouse use.
Modular & Expandable Design
Main frames and add-on configurations can be combined to create longer shelving runs, making the system suitable for both individual storage areas and larger warehouse installations.
Structure & Components
The Butterfly Hole Longspan Shelving system consists of several modular steel components designed to work together as a stable storage frame.
① Upright Column
Cold-rolled steel columns are precision-punched with butterfly-shaped connection holes for beam installation and shelf-level adjustment.
② Step Beam
Formed steel beams connect directly to the upright columns and support the shelf panels.
③ Steel Shelf Panel
Steel panels provide the storage surface and distribute uniformly placed loads across the shelf level.
④ Base Foot Pad
Heavy-gauge foot pads provide a stable base for the upright columns and help protect the floor surface.
⑤ Safety Locking Pin
Locking pins help secure the beam connection and reduce the possibility of accidental beam displacement during normal operation.

Load capacity refers to uniformly distributed load (UDL). Actual capacity depends on the shelving configuration, dimensions, component combination, and loading conditions. Contact our team for configuration-specific recommendations.
Load Capacity & UDL
The rated capacity of longspan shelving depends on the steel specifications, profile dimensions, shelf configuration, and how the stored goods are distributed across each level.
For example, a 200 kg UDL rating means the total load of up to 200 kg is distributed evenly across the usable shelf surface. It should not be interpreted as a 200 kg concentrated load applied to a single point.
Our standard configurations are available in 100 kg, 200 kg, and 300 kg per level, allowing buyers to select a configuration according to the type and weight of goods being stored.
When planning a shelving system, factors such as shelf dimensions, number of levels, frame spacing, and actual load distribution should be considered together rather than selecting a load rating based only on the product name.

Applications
Warehouse & Logistics
Suitable for cartons, spare parts, packaged goods, components, and other inventory handled manually.
Workshops & Manufacturing
Useful for organizing tools, maintenance parts, hardware, production materials, and assembly components close to work areas.
Retail Backrooms
Provides accessible storage for inventory awaiting replenishment, helping keep backroom stock organized and easy to retrieve.
The system is particularly suitable for manual picking environments where forklift access is not required at each storage level.
Wholesale & OEM Customization
For distributors, wholesalers, warehouse projects, and OEM buyers, the shelving system can be configured according to specific project requirements.
Available customization options include:
- Custom length, depth, and height
- Custom RAL colors
- Brand labeling
- Customized shelving configurations
- Flat-pack export packaging
For larger orders, our team can review the required shelf dimensions, load levels, quantities, and packaging requirements before production.
KD Export Packaging
Butterfly Hole Longspan Shelving is supplied in Knock-Down (KD) packaging for efficient transportation and installation.
Flat-packed components help reduce shipping volume and improve container utilization for bulk orders. Components are packed to help protect powder-coated surfaces during handling and international transportation.
Benefits for wholesale buyers include:
- More efficient container loading
- Reduced packaging and transportation volume
- Easier warehouse handling
- Convenient assembly at the destination
- Better suitability for bulk export orders
For distributors and importers, packaging efficiency can be an important part of the overall landed cost, especially when ordering shelving in container quantities.
