The operation area of the pallet rack warehouse is divided into four modules: purchase, inventory, shipment, and office. The specific area division and its main functions are as follows:
1. Receiving operation area
Also known as the warehousing area, the main functions involved in this area are vehicle purchase, unloading, handover point receipt, temporary storage, tally, processing, quality inspection, etc.
2. The storage area in the library
Also known as a storage area, the main functions involved in this area are warehousing and racking, daily storage, replenishment in the warehouse, movement, adjustment, picking, inventory, etc.
3. Delivery area
Also known as the outbound area, the main functions involved in this area are secondary sorting, processing, scanning and rechecking, packaging, labeling, weighing, cargo collection, express delivery, handover, loading, etc.
4. After-sales service area
Return receipt, quality inspection, responsibility confirmation, defective product handling, good product return to shelves, etc.
5. Office area
The activity area of warehouse operation and management personnel office, including operation management, on-site scheduling, voucher preparation, data, voucher printing, customer service, financial settlement, etc.
As for the storage area of e-commerce warehouse, due to its business characteristics, there are generally only two types of storage methods:
1. Storage area; 2. Zero picking area.
According to the physical location, storage capacity, SKU quantity and characteristics of the warehouse, and the details of the sales order, the storage area, and zero picking area are planned and designed accordingly; then the receiving operation area and delivery operation area are mapped, the storage area is divided, and the logistics moving line, picking path and replenishment path are designed in the warehouse pallet racking layout.
