Warehouse Heavy Duty Pallet Gravity Flow Racks
Warehouse Heavy Duty Pallet Gravity Flow Racks are designed to provide a high-density and energy-efficient storage solution for palletized goods. Using gravity as the driving force, pallets move smoothly along inclined roller lanes from the loading side to the picking side. This system is ideal for operations that require reliable FIFO inventory control, reduced handling time, and optimized warehouse space utilization.
Working Principle
The system operates through inclined roller conveyor lanes installed within the racking structure. Pallets are loaded at the higher end of each lane and move forward automatically under gravity. As pallets are removed from the picking side, the next pallet advances to the discharge position, ensuring continuous and controlled product flow without powered equipment.
Roller & Brake System
Heavy-duty steel rollers form the core of the gravity flow mechanism. These rollers are engineered to support high pallet loads while maintaining consistent movement. Integrated speed controllers and braking devices regulate pallet velocity, preventing sudden acceleration and minimizing impact forces, which helps protect both stored goods and racking components over long-term operation.
Safety Separation System
A mechanical pallet separator is installed at the picking end of each lane to ensure safe and efficient pallet retrieval. This device holds back the following pallets while allowing only one pallet to be released at a time. The controlled separation significantly improves forklift safety and reduces the risk of pallet collision during unloading operations.
Storage Density & Space Utilization
Pallet gravity flow racks are designed for deep-lane storage, allowing multiple pallets to be stored in a single lane. With lane depths of up to 15 pallets, the system dramatically reduces the number of required aisles. This configuration enables warehouse space utilization rates exceeding 75%, making it an excellent choice for high-volume storage environments.
FIFO Inventory Management
The gravity-driven layout naturally supports a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory strategy. Products loaded first are always the first to be picked, ensuring consistent stock rotation. This makes pallet gravity flow racking particularly suitable for industries where product freshness, expiration control, or batch traceability is critical.
Load Capacity & Structural Strength
Designed for heavy-duty applications, each pallet position can support loads of up to 1,500 kg, depending on pallet dimensions and roller specifications. The rack frames are manufactured from high-strength steel and engineered to maintain structural stability under continuous dynamic loads, ensuring reliable performance in demanding warehouse environments.
Operational Efficiency
By separating loading and picking aisles, pallet gravity flow racks reduce forklift travel distances and eliminate the need for forklifts to enter storage lanes. This streamlined workflow improves handling efficiency, shortens order fulfillment time, and helps maintain safer traffic patterns within the warehouse.
