Post Guards / Post Protectors

This is an excellent way to protect your storage system investment from errant forklift operators or other warehouse  accidents by using post protectors or rear protectors. Such protectors can be completely detached from the rack post (as shown in the diagram) or bolted directly to the upright post. Either way, using a post protector or column protector to protect a pallet rack upright is a very affordable insurance policy against the possibility of significant damage to your storage system and row spacers from forklift damage.

Wire  shelf deck

One of the most popular pallet rack accessories is the wire shelf deck because it improves the safety and stability of the pallet rack system. It significantly reduces the risk of pallets falling because it gives the pallet more surface area to sit on instead of sitting on two beams. Steel wire decking is a safe decking material that typically meets OSHA standards.

Back to Wall - Back to Back Tie and Row Spacer

With these wall and row spacers attached to the racks and tightly secured to the rack at a fixed pitch from the wall or other pallet racks. These separators are used for the top and bottom of each upright in a row of stranded racks. These ties are usually recommended when the upright height is more than six times the depth, but they may be a good choice if you are concerned about stability.

Security panels and straps

The safety panel and strap is only a barrier between the storage material and the edge of the rack. That helps protect the material from the possibility of falling off the rack. They are available in several varieties and are made of different materials depending on specific needs.

Pallet Support Bar

Pallet supports are appropriately named to provide support for the bottom surface of the pallet. Normally, there should be two pallet supports per pallet, but the load must still rest on the front and rear beams. The pallet supports should be ordered at a depth that is upright to the pallet rack.

Four common types of pallet supports are available.

1: Standard – this rests and overhangs the beam steps, there is no beam overhang

2: Roll Formed – these rest only on the beam steps, with no beam overhang

3: Structural – these also only rest on beam steps with no overhang – usually, but they bolt to each beam to provide rigidity throughout the rack structure

4: Slots – These must be used with beams with slots, as they “clip” into slots in the beam for better stability.
